The rat mentions how he know that the owl has not eaten or slept, he says hes not complaining. After giving some advice to the owl the rat says that hes leaving, but the only think the owl says is "not leave"
Knowing that he hasnt eaten in a while this is perfect for him, food came to him. He doesnt want the rat to leave so he can eat him.
