Being a Student at CSUN is only getting harder and harder!
At first I thought this school was going to be no problem. Registering for
classes was easy, but that was only because I was a freshman. Super Seniors,
Seniors, Handicapped, Freshman and other groups of people get priority for registration.
Having priory means that you are more likely to get the classes you want, you
get to choose your classes earlier than most people, so there are bigger
amounts of opened seats for a class that you want. Since I was a freshman I
happened to be one of those students with priority, so I had no problem picking
my classes. My first semester I got all the classes I wanted, as well as my
second semester. Not only was I able to get my classes but I had to attend
mandatory workshops that helped us pick our classes. My transition from being a
freshman to slowly moving my way into becoming a sophomore is slowly but
drastically changing. The first effect right away will be that I will no longer
have any priority what so ever to pick my classes. My registration date will be
pushed far more back then when I was going to apply for classes at the
beginning of my college experience. Most seats in the classes I’m sure will be
full if not taken, so this is going to put more stress on me to find classes
that I need and that I would like to take. I will be stuck with lame classes
that probably will be no fun and with lame professors. I am not looking forward
to this. Also my schedule will probably be all scattered with classes
throughout my day. I like my classes to be one right after another if not
within close periods in between them. This will make my day feel like its
longer and I will probably be bored most of the time. The second effect is how
all these tuition raises are going. It seems like they increase tuition costs every
semester! I may get financial aid that will cover for those expenses right now
but later I don’t know if I’ll be getting enough. As bad as it is right now I
am already in debt with some loans. If it keeps on increasing who knows how
much more I’ll be in debt with. Even worse how will I come up with the money to
pay it off? The third effect is while they are increasing tuition they are
having budget cuts. This means that many resources that are valuable to me may disappear
soon. Without these my college experience is only going to get harder! I feel
like these assholes only want our money! Like if they are caring less about our
education and worrying more about how much we are actually paying them. And
what is up with these Unit Caps! How am I supposed to graduate in four years if
they are restraining how many units we can take a semester? It’s only another excuse
for them to keep us in school another semester or so to get more of our money!
Dicks!!!
